Sports In The USA, Inc. was launched in 1988. Initially, the firm produced sports events for cable television systems with two aspiring announcers named Walt Frazier and Nancy Lieberman sitting in the booth at United States Basketball League games. A large client-base of weekly newspapers was created and state-wide rankings of scholastic sports began. As the years passed, the firm introduced consulting services (first client was the Arena Football League) , events planning that included the first-ever NCAA Division III Senior Football All-Star Game (it evolved into the Aztec Bowl), as well as the development of USAFOOTBALL.COM that is the grand-daddy of all the dot.com's that followed. Franchise management services at the professional level, marketing and promotion of events for sports facilities including Newark's Prudential Center and expansion into the academic arena with staff members serving as adjunct professors in graduate schools of sports administration, continued to expand the scope of the operation. Offering unique internships at the collegiate and graduate school levels has opened new doors for expansion into the Global Sport Industry but there has also been a corporfate decision to "re-create the wheel" with USA College Sports, Inc. The firm has begun to develop and explore new options to increase the media coverage of woman's sports and non-revenue competitions at the two and four-year college levels.
One area of concentration this summer term will be on USA College Lacrosse. USA College Sports, Inc. is offering unique internships for student/athletes with a passion for lacrosse who will undertake projects to recognize broader and strategic allocation of resources by collecting ideas and concepts that will develop effective marketing plans that will clearly define the "business" mission of college lacrosse. As various utilize different measures of participation, involvement, social status and lifetyle, the interns will be challenged to answer a simple question - how to put fans in the stands.
The first project is the elevation of women's college lacrosse. To do so, USA College Sports, Inc. welcomes the USA College Lacrosse Women's Executive Board to the organization. If you are a coach and would like to accept the chsllenge and join the Executive Board, please contact us at collegesportsintheusa@gmail.com.
